Raiffeisen Landesbank Steiermark (RLB Steiermark) is a leading Austrian bank with a long history of providing financial services to individuals and businesses. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, the bank continuously seeks to enhance its offerings and to provide top-notch financial services. Recognizing the importance of financial literacy for young adults, RLB Steiermark sought to develop an innovative and engaging solution to bridge the knowledge gap in investing, thus making financial education accessible and engaging for all.

The brief.

In the ever-evolving financial industry, Raiffeisen Landesbank Steiermark, in collaboration with Graz University, recognized the challenge of engaging 25-35-year-olds with investment education, as traditional methods often fall short. To address this, we came up with a gamified concept that simplifies the complexities of investing, making it both educational and entertaining while also ensuring sustained user engagement. Our goal was to create a flexible, cross-platform application that reaches a broad audience, effectively promotes financial literacy among younger generations and maintains cost efficiency.

The solution.

We approached this project with a comprehensive strategy, starting with developing an intuitive information architecture to ensure a seamless user experience. Our UX team crafted a user-friendly interface, using eye-catching visuals and a playful narrative to engage users. The fit2invest app features interactive modules on various investment topics, gamified challenges, and a dynamic main flow simulating real-world stock market reactions. The training section offers engaging content and practical exercises — all of this without spending a dime and risking one’s own money. Sophisticated algorithms automate personalized experiences, and our cross-platform development ensures seamless functionality across multiple devices.

The outcome.

The fit2invest app is a perfect blend of education and entertainment, designed to make investment knowledge accessible to young adults. With a compelling storyline, it guides users through various investment scenarios where they can make decisions and see the outcomes in a simulated environment. The app’s interactive modules and challenges not only reinforce learning but also build user confidence. Users gain valuable insights into stock market dynamics by exploring different investment opportunities. The game’s approach to simulating losses and gains allows them to learn from their decisions without any real financial risk. This encourages players to experiment with different strategies and apply their newfound knowledge to future scenarios.

Developing a cross-platform solution not only maximized reach but also resulted in significant cost savings for Raiffeisen Landesbank Steiermark. The app’s success is evident in the positive user feedback, increased engagement rates, and numerous requests to offer the app as a white-label solution to other financial institutions within and beyond the Raiffeisen Group.
