Revvy. is a recruitment platform and social network for professionals. It aims to bypass the traditional & largely outdated application/hiring process and reinvent it by using video technology and artificial intelligence (AI). Meant for new generations entering the job market, this application allows candidates to present themselves in form of short, professional videos. In this way they can build their personal brand and as a result, go through the application processes that are more specific and personalised. An AI-powered algorithm matches candidates with relevant job opportunities and does the initial screening with the help of “Hubble”, an integrated chatbot.

The brief.

Knowing that they would need an “A-level design” and outstanding usability to succeed on the market, the Revvy. team was looking for a partner with expertise in UX & UI design and excellent references. We played a crucial role in building up an agile design process, pushing & challenging essential product decisions, creating a design system and design language, defining and carrying out user research, and last but not least, handing off all deliverables in time.

The solution.

The project involved over 10 experts across four countries and multiple time zones, necessitating clear processes and agile methodologies to ensure efficient collaboration and consistent design. We prioritised creating a frictionless and inclusive recruitment process by focusing on key challenges such as reducing discrimination and encouraging user-generated content. A robust user research plan was implemented to identify usability issues early and validate our UX approach, while our UX writer and inclusion expert made sure to address sensitive topics, ensuring the product’s copy was consistent, clear, and accessible.

Our solution integrated a comprehensive suite of mobile and web features to streamline the recruitment process and enhance user experience. Key mobile app features included professional video creation, personalised user profiles, video-based job discovery, a dynamic video feed, an integrated recruitment chatbot (Hubble), and a chat function for seamless communication with recruiters and applicants. On the website, recruiters benefited from a hiring dashboard, AI-powered candidate matching, automated screening, detailed candidate profiles, user management, and advanced recruitment analytics.

The outcome.

We handed off complete designs and prototypes for the app (iOS) and the web application, accompanied by user insights acquired through user research. To assure consistency across the entire product, both in language and design, we built up an atomic design system, defined interaction patterns, and created a UX writing guide. Additionally, we made pitch decks and a promotional video for Revvy.

Throughout this exciting and challenging project we managed to:

  1. Conceptualise and design an easy-to-use mobile app and recruitment web platform

  2. Support client in defining an agile design process

  3. Challenge and push important product decisions

  4. Implement a research plan (usability tests & user interviews)

  5. Establish a cohesive design system and consistent product language

  6. Win Red Dot Award 2022 in the Design Concept category
