Recognized as a Fabric Featured Partner by Microsoft we build and deploy data platforms for our customers on Fabric, Databricks and Synapse analytics, offering the opportunity to shape cutting-edge data initiatives for a wide range of clients.  

About the role

As a Data Solution Architect, you will: 

• Collaborate and Innovate: Partner with both internal and client teams to understand business needs and create tailored, high-impact Data solutions. 
• Lead with Confidence: Engage in early-stage client activities from qualification and demos to proofs of concept, pilots, and discoveries, ensuring a seamless handover to the delivery teams. 
• Leverage Subject Matter Expertise: Architect elegant, scalable solutions and maintain trusted client relationships. Stay current with emerging trends, contribute to new propositions, and share insights through blogs and other media. 
• Work in a Hybrid Environment: Participate in weekly in-person meetings at our London or Bristol offices, with occasional travel to client sites. Enjoy a flexible blend of remote and on-site work. 
• Contribute to Accelerators: Help evolve Ascent’s Data accelerators, enabling customers to rapidly implement effective solutions from both a technology and business perspective. 

Your Skills

• Azure Data Architecture Experience: Proven success as an Azure Data Solution Architect, with the ability to consult, architect, and estimate solution costs. 
• Azure Data Product Knowledge: Expertise in one or more of the following platforms: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Databricks, and supporting data technologies like Power BI, Microsoft Purview, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, etc. 
• DevOps: Understanding of Azure infrastructure concepts and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD promotion from Dev to Prod, ARM, BICEP, Terraform, etc. 
• Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to both internal and external audiences. 
• Versatile Experience: Working with varying organisations, from SMC to Enterprise. 
• Agile Methodologies: Commercial Agile experience is desirable. 
• Certification Preferred: Microsoft certifications are advantageous. 
• AI Aware: An understanding of Data Science and knowledge of Generative AI would be beneficial but not a firm requirement.
