In this role, you will apply your expertise across a set of interesting customers, diverse, sectors and complex challenges, on both major transformations (typically 6-18 months) and smaller-scope engagements. Your daily responsibilities as a Lead Software Engineer will be:
- Leading and defining technical direction across full stack projects, especially with React (Next.js), .NET C#, and Azure.
- Collaborating closely with Technical Architects to design and implement robust architectural solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and best practices.
- Guiding, mentoring, and coaching team members to elevate their technical and professional capabilities.
- Championing best practices, code quality, and consistency through rigorous code reviews and peer collaborations.
- Leading Agile ceremonies, fostering effective communication, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Proactively identifying, analysing, and mitigating technical risks and project impediments.
- Serving as the key technical liaison with customers, aligning solutions closely with their business objectives.
- Managing customer expectations, scope, and changes effectively and collaboratively.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues promptly and efficiently.
Required Skills and Experience
The following skills/experience are necessary:
- Minimum 7 years experience in a fullstack engineering role, with significant experience in React (Next.js), .NET C# and Azure.
- Proven leadership experience in software engineering teams.
- Proficient in modern front-end and back-end architectures, including REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL Server, Cosmos DB), Azure services (App Services, Functions), and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform, experience with ARM/Bicep is considered a plus) and CI/CD practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), capable of effectively engaging and influencing both internal stakeholders (e.g. architects, developers, project managers) and external stakeholders (e.g. customers, partners, customer tech teams).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and deliver within deadlines.
- Experience fostering collaborative and inclusive team cultures, inspiring excellence.
- The following skills and qualifications are advantageous:
- Experience or keen interest in emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and IoT.
- Certifications or relevant qualifications in Azure cloud architecture.
- University degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Hand-on experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
